What is Door Belle?
Door Belle is a Barbados-based home watch and light property oversight service for people who own homes here but are away often. We check your home, document what we see, and keep you informed so small problems do not become bigger ones.
Who is Door Belle for?
Door Belle is designed for absentee homeowners, Barbadian diaspora homeowners, frequent travelers, second-home owners, and vacation-home owners whose homes are not occupied regularly.
Do you offer services across all of Barbados?
Yes. Door Belle serves all of Barbados, and our standard pricing applies island-wide.

What Door Belle is not?
Door Belle is not a property management company, Airbnb management company, handyman service, repair company, cleaning company, landscaping company, security company, or full household management service.
Services & Plans
What is the difference between Basic Watch, Oversight, and Concierge?
Basic Watch is best for clients who want peace of mind and clear updates on the condition of their home. Oversight includes contractor access and supervision. Concierge includes broader coordination and limited payment support for regular home-related matters, all within clearly defined limits.
Do you offer weekly visits?
Yes. Door Belle offers a Weekly Basic Watch option for clients who want more frequent visibility. This includes one visit per week, brief WhatsApp updates during the month, and one formal month-end report.
Does the weekly plan cost more in a five-week month?
No. The weekly Basic Watch option remains at the same monthly price, even in a five-week month.
Can you manage Airbnb or short-term rentals?
No. Door Belle is not designed for short-term rental turnover, guest management, or Airbnb operations.
Do you clean, repair, or maintain the property yourself?
No. We do not position ourselves as cleaners, handymen, or repair professionals. Our role is light oversight, documentation, coordination, and reporting.
Do you provide emergency response services?
No. Door Belle is a light home watch and oversight service, not an emergency response service. We focus on routine oversight, documentation, and practical communication within a clear scope.
Visits & Reports
What happens during a standard home visit?
A standard visit may include an exterior and interior visual inspection, checking for obvious issues, taking photos, checking water and power, flushing toilets, running taps, airing out rooms, checking locks, doors, and windows, and looking for unusual smells, leaks, rust, or visible wear. We may also do basic checks on internet connection, AC units, fans, TVs, and certain appliances where practical.
How long does a visit usually take?
A standard Basic Watch visit generally takes around 30 to 45 minutes per property, depending on the size and condition of the home.
What do I receive after a visit?
Clients generally receive photo documentation, a brief PDF report by email, and a short WhatsApp update where needed. Formal reports are typically sent within 24 to 48 hours of the visit.
How many photos will I receive?
Most clients can expect approximately 10 to 25 photos per visit, depending on the property and what needs to be documented.
Contractors & Access
Do you supervise contractors?
Yes. On eligible plans, we can open the property, remain present during the visit, document arrival and departure, collect receipts where relevant, and provide updates to the client.
Do you manage contractors or guarantee their work?
We can coordinate access, communicate with contractors, supervise attendance, and report back to you. However, we do not guarantee contractor workmanship, repair quality, or future repair outcomes.
Can you recommend contractors if I do not already have one?
Yes. If needed, we may recommend contractors, but the contractor relationship and performance responsibility remain between the client and the contractor.
Can you pay contractors or utility bills for me?
Yes, this is available under the Concierge Plan within defined limits. Larger one-off costs may need to be paid in advance before the service is arranged.
Do you hold house keys?
Our preferred access method is an on-site client lockbox. However, if needed, Door Belle can hold keys and store them securely.
Why do you prefer lockbox access?
Lockbox access is usually the simpler and lower-risk option. It keeps more control with the client and helps reduce liability around key handling and storage.
Trust & Security
How do I know who will be entering my property?
Door Belle provides a clear list of authorized people who may attend a visit. Jalea Best and Tyler Belle are expected to carry out the vast majority of visits.
Are your team members verified?
Yes. Any person entering a property on behalf of Door Belle must provide valid identification and a Police Certificate of Character.
Do I need to provide an emergency contact?
Yes. Clients should provide at least one emergency contact. Ideally, we recommend one overseas contact and one Barbados-based contact.
Do you offer storm-related checks?
Yes. Pre-storm and post-storm checks are included for eligible plans during the season, once it is safe and reasonably practical to travel.
Do you carry out storm preparation work?
No. We do not personally carry out physical storm preparation work such as putting up shutters, boarding windows, or moving outdoor furniture. Where needed, we may help coordinate the right service providers.
Add-On Services
Do you offer grocery shopping?
Yes. Grocery shopping is available as an add-on service and is designed to make your return home easier and more comfortable.
What is Pre-Arrival House Prep?
Pre-Arrival House Prep is an add-on service designed to help get your home ready before you return. This may include grocery shopping, coordinating cleaners, setting out toiletries, ensuring clean towels are available, and making sure the home is ready for your arrival.
Can you arrange airport transportation?
Yes. Organizing a taxi is available as a simple add-on service. We can book the taxi, confirm the arrangement, and follow up to make sure it arrives.
What is an Additional Visit?
An Additional Visit is a lighter extra stop-by during the month. It is ideal for quick reassurance, a follow-up check, or opening up the property. It does not automatically include a full formal checklist or a second full report.
Billing & Payment
How do payments work?
Clients pay monthly in advance. Payments may be collected by card, online payment link, recurring invoice, or recurring charge where practical.
What happens if payment is late?
If payment is not received, service pauses automatically and no visit will be carried out until payment is made.
What currency do you charge in?
Door Belle's package pricing is primarily in USD, since many of our clients are based overseas.
Do you have a service agreement?
Yes. Door Belle uses a clear service agreement to outline the scope of service, access arrangements, payment terms, reporting, and other important operating terms.
